   In 2006, I was approached by a North Korean while in Uganda, of all places. I was eating at the Sheraton with some US Embassy staff, who had warned me in advance. At the buffet, a woman asked me where I was from; I said the US and asked her where she was from. She just said “Korea”–not North or South.
